Humor The Voice Crying, If You Please

The name of this blog is A Voice Crying In The Wilderness.

I've recently(two weeks ago) installed a counter on my blog because I had no idea if anyone was listening. Is it really a voice crying in the wilderness, a question kind of like the old philosophical chesnuts; 'If a tree falls in the forest and there's no one there to hear it, does it make a noise?' and 'What is the sound of one hand clapping?'.

The counter stats make it clear that The Voice doesn't have the following of a Times columnist, but that, on average, five or so people visit the site on a given day and about half of them view more than one post.

It would be nice to get some feedback from readers. While I do moderate comments I only weed out the gross and the profane. Agreeing or disagreeing is what I'm interested in.

So if you are so inclined, please consider leaving a comment.

Leanderthal,
The Voice

Leanderthal,

From my point of view you are doing a very fine job of posting thoughts and links to important cultural goings on. It's obvioius that you have clear thinking and have done a lot of work to keep your the "Voice" going. I don't have the time to read everything but still feel that it is an important work.
One reason that I write this is that I read the frustration that so few folks take the time to get involved, read, and drop comments. I went through something on a much smaller scale in trying to interest a few friends to join my own little personal blog. It was pretty much dropped like a hot rock. That hurts in a way; but I will get over it. As you must know the Inet is scattered with un-read and un-appreciated blogs.(personally I have no interest in "family" blogs of familys that I don't know.)

I don't have any whiz bang ideas on how you could "grow" your community of dedicated readers and contributers. Really, what would it take? Photos of scantily clad starlets? Guest writers that have opposing points of view? Cute photos of dogs and cats? There must be some way to "spice it up" without selling out your mission

If you have the time and interest to keep going. I strongly encouage you to go that way. Let's hope for the best and pray that America steers toward common sense.

Old Dude,

Many thanks for your encouraging words. I really don't have a big need to grow this thing. I'm actually happy that the counter says a few people each day read it.

What I am interested in is what those who read it think about the issues I address.

Thanks again for taking the time to write.
