Here's an article about a Texas politician's crying that Exxon/Mobil will go out of business if the
subsidies they get from the Feds are stopped.
Hard to believe how some people can rave and rant in support of a boondoggle for their constituents. It's not technically a lie because all companies either fail or are sold over time.
Joe Barton acknowledges that in his testimony, but he wants you to believe that a hugely profitable company like Exxon/Mobile is in danger of failing if the tax payers subsidies are withdrawn.
