Here's a local story which just might be an example of a trailing indicator about behavior at large.
It's pretty much a truism that the behavior of the leaders in any organization, small or large, trickles down and pervades the entire organization.
The "I got mine, you get your own" attitude of the Bush administration is a classic example.
