Here's today's NYTimes editorial on what Bush is doing as fast as he can before he leaves office. It's a kind of scorched earth policy, bequeathing to his successor a kind of denuded constitutional landscape.
If McCain wins today he will be the recipient of Bush's generosity in taking care of these things so McCain won't have to.
If Obama wins today he'll have to spend his first term trying to restore that constitutional landscape to a semblance of its original beauty.
It's a fitting hast hurrah for Bush/Cheney whose attitude has always been 'I've got mine, get your own'.
