What does a large boulder, observed to be peculiarly and awkwardly out of place, have in common with John McCain?
They're both Glacial Erratics.
They've both been around a long time, really old, find themselves where they are today as a result of their susceptibility to unplanned course corrections and have no problem with flattening whatever they roll over.
Consider this an open thread, and feel free to use the comment link below to add to the analogy should you stumble upon another example of erratic behavior shared by both rocks of ages.
