The media today is chock full of commentary on John McCain and his riding to the rescue of the "unimperiled", as Eugene Robinson so pithily wrote.
Here is yet another excellent appraisal of McCain's attempt to change the venue of his campaign, knowing he can't change the subject, the issues about which he is being raked over the coals by Obama.
Suspending his campaign? "Baloney", to use David Brooks' word in the NYTimes today to label the Democrats' claim that today's McCain is the real McCain.
McCain falling back in the polls late in the campaign, and, as Charles Krauthammer so cynically recommended the public do about the Wall Street crisis in today's WaPo, he has to "do what it takes".
