Not Vindictive, But Provokable

Bob Herbert here bemoans the dirty tricks of the McCain campaign and elements of the Republican Party to disenfranchise voters who appear to favor democrat candidates.

It's been going on since at least the campaign of 2000, and is likely to have thrown that election into the arms of the Supreme Court justices who appointed Bush as President.

Imagine, if that contest had been fair; no war in Iraq, no Guantanamo, no secret overseas prisons, no renditions, no waterboarding. Perhaps even no 911, and no war in Afghanistan.

It's time Americans of all stripes, party affiliations and personal prejudices said to McCain, his henchmen and their neocon cabal, "I'm not vindictive by nature, but I am provokable".

The most effective way to do that is by voting for the Obama/Biden ticket.
